Fall OOTD:The Chunky Heel

Here's a recent ootd. I actually wore this outfit for Thanksgiving. I love dressing up jeans. These booties add the right amount of height to really lengthen my legs. Topped the look off with big curls and a red lip. What'd you wear on Thanksgiving?

Styling a Fur Vest

Styling a fur vest is slightly out of my comfort zone but it's great to challenge ourselves from time to time. This vest is from Target and has leather details to edge it up. Or you can cover the leather with a collared shirt to dress it down.

Day 1:

I love pairing a denim shirt with black jeans. Keeping the vest and boots neutral: the pieces compliment each other and standout.

Swap the black jeans out for black trousers and add a statement necklace to make this look business casual for work.

Denim Shirt: American Eagle
Vest: Target $34.99
Jeans: Macy's
Booties: Target

Watch from Charming Charlie's.

Day 2:

This look is so casual, The vest is just used for a little warmth. Pair the vest with a tee and jeans. The white sneakers are classic and keep the look laid back.

Beanie: Target
Vest: Target
Tee: Aeropostale
Jeans: Aeropostale
Bracelets: JCP
Shoes: Converse

To Night:

This is definitely more of a Night look.
I dressed this vest up with pleather leggings and just all black.

 Vest: Target
Long Tee Shirt: Target
Pleather Leggings: Kohl's
Shoes: Target(and I'm obsessed)

My Favorite look is the first look with the denim shirt. Which is your favorite?
How would you style this fur vest?

The Casual T-Shirt Dress

Sometimes we just do not want to wear pants. What are our options; sweats, leggings, a frilly dress? I don't wear sweats, I personally do not like wearing leggings(I'm just about the only girl on planet earth) and a frilly dress, nah lets be comfy....

Here's a laid back way to style/transition the t-shirt dress this fall

I've styled my t-shirt dress with white cons(classic) and a long white sweater. Layering some dainty necklaces polishes this rather casual look right off.

The Outfit Details:
dress: Target
converse: Kohls
sweater: Roxy @ Marshalls
necklaces: Forever 21 and Kohls

This look would be perfect for a date night. Most guys like when girls keep it simple... and show some leg ;-).

There are so many more ways to style this dress. Make this style dress a staple in your wardrobe and have endless possibilities.

The Burgundy Jean

Each time I think of fall and the color burgundy; my mind goes to red wine, fall colored leaves, dark lipsticks, and the one and only Ron Burgundy of course.

Burgundy is a fall staple, often referred to as wine, maroon, or sometimes ox blood(Is it a surprise to anyone that the term "ox blood" never really stuck?) Here is an outfit that I've styled around one of my favorite fall staples: the burgundy jean

A very simply styled outfit. The Burgundy Jeans make much more of an impact and contribute more to the over all look than a classic pair of jeans could.

Outfit Details:
 jeans- Hollister(old)
sweater- Target
leopard flats-Target(last year)
watch-JCPenny
hat-Target

Bohemian Chic Maxi

I'm always so jealous of those perfect boho outfit posts on Pinterest. I've been on a long Journey to find an adorable boho maxi dress. It's difficult to find a maxi dress that has the right print, length, and fit. FINALLY, last week while shopping the clearance rack at American Eagle, I found it.
Added an oversized sweater and booties to make this seasonally appropriate.

The belt came from a shirt in my closet.

Dress $19.99 American Eagle Clearance, sweater Hollister $16 Memorial Day Sale, Booties Express $14.99 end of winter semi-annual sale.

When it gets even cooler I will add tights(or leggings), taller boots, and an anorak jacket.

DIY Costumes found in your closet!

Get invited to a party last minute? On a tight budget? maybe you had a wardrobe malfunction? or your costume wasn't delivered in time?
If you answered yes, don't fret. Here are six not too obvious costume ideas using items most girls already have in their closets.

Mary Poppins: umbrella, black hat, flower(s), white button up, blazer or light jacket, red ribbon, black skirt, black bag the bigger the better, black tights, and black heels.
It's supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

Daria: Glasses(round if available) green coat, brown under shirt, black skirt, combat boots. Add a pout and you're good to go.

Redneck: Flannel, ripped jeans, boots, beer. I also drew on some freckles. Make sure you choose a redneck beer for a prop; busch, PBR, or bud heavy.

Hippie: Headband, sunglasses, flowy top, for the bottoms you can do ripped jeans, bell bottoms, or palazzo pants. Almost any shoes will do. A middle part is better, ponies and braids work great too. To go even bigger add some tie dye and glitter wherever possible.

Librarian: glasses, button down sweater, tight tank, curve hugging skirt, heels, book. I added a watch too because smart people/readers would wear a watch.

Black widow: all black outfit, red makeup or ketchup, weapon or shovel. If you go with the shovel get a little dirty. The idea is that you made yourself a black widow. Clearly I've murdered my husband and put him in this shed. But if I had a shovel I would have buried him.

____HAPPY Halloween!____
